Letter, 2017

By Karen Lomax

[This is the text from an internal letter written by members of the Trump Administration’s Civil Rights Division and the Department of Justice that rescinds protection for transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice.] I redesigned the typography of the letter to have the most important and discriminating parts pop out more. Throughout the piece I have handwritten tales of what happens to transgender children when they simply need to pee. Within a different font I also have true facts about what happens to transgender people when they feel the stress of this. The image is warped to show the actual law being so warped.
